Ten Steps for Parish Catechetical Renewal
- Order On Good Soil Kit
- Parish Manual
- Video
- Two Posters
- Review and study the On Good Soil Parish Manual and view the 18-minute video.
- Identify and invite 6 to 8 people to participate in the four Conversations using the Parish Manual p.7.
- Study the Conversation Guide, from the Parish Manual pp.8-9, which outlines the three-step process:
- Getting Ready to Talk
- Understanding Catechesis
- Imaging the Future
- Photocopy worksheets for each of the four Conversations:
- The Children, pp. 12 - 15
- Catechists, pp. 16 - 19
- Families, pp. 20 - 23
- Whole Parish, pp. 24 - 27
- Engage participants in the four Conversations from the Parish Manual. Decide beforehand whether to tackle all four Conversations at one meeting or to limit each gathering to one or two. Begin with the Opening prayer from the Parish Manual pp. 10-11.
- At the end of the fourth Conversation, have participants complete the Personal Mission Statement from the Parish Manual p.28.
- Work together to create a common mission statement.
- Share information with the parish.
- Complete the Feedback Form and e-mail to Benziger Publishing.
